A recent survey by Wakefield Research shows that millions of Americans have major concerns about painting their homes. This is a surprising stat since painting is one of the cheapest and easiest ways to renovate. According to the survey, concerns listed are: Time – Close to 40% said that painting would take too long. A fair concern given that most painting projects can stretch out for days if not weeks regardless if it’s DIY or a hired painting company. Prep – 1 in 3 Americans say it’s “too much of a pain” to do prep work before painting, such as cleaning and sanding walls, taping, covering furniture with drop sheets, etc. Money – A quarter of Americans are concerned painting “will cost too much.” The price of a professional paint job shouldn’t keep you from making a color change – if you do your homework. A tip that can save you some money – ask painters to give you free estimates so you know your options. And, don’t hire a painter who won’t put it in writing. The survey was conducted by Wakefield Research on behalf of WOW 1 DAY! Painting, a new concept in the painting industry that aims to address the concerns that many Americans have about painting their homes. WOW 1 DAY! Painting promises to paint a home in a day, solving America’s #1 issue with painting, time. Just because it’s done in a day doesn’t mean that it’s not of high quality, it’s just a matter of man-power. If one painter can paint five rooms in five days, why not have five painters paint the same five rooms in one day? According to Jim Bodden co-founder of WOW 1 DAY! Painting, the purpose of the survey was to better understand the mindset of homeowners when it comes to painting. “Since painting is generally seen as a common, inexpensive and relatively easy way to renovate your home, we wanted to see if this was in fact the case with our customers,”said Bodden. The survey revealed some interesting facts. “We weren’t surprised that time and prep work were two of the more common concerns people had towards painting,” said Bodden. “Painting can be a long, tedious process that a lot of people simply do not want to deal with. The fact that time was listed helps to validate the concept of our company which is one day painting. One thing that did surprise us was that one in four people think that painting will cost too much. Painting is a relatively inexpensive way to spruce up a room or two or even an entire house, especially when compared to other renovations. Painting is also an especially easy way to increase the value of your home if say you were in the process of selling.” According to Bodden, two misconceptions about painting are that painting leaves an awful lingering odor and there is a high degree of disruption to your home, such as furniture moved around, drop sheets everywhere and can’t access certain rooms. “With the increased prevalence of low and zero VOC paints, and the near elimination of consumer grade oil-based paints, the level of odor associated with painting has dropped considerably,” said Bodden. “The days of ‘I’ll wait until spring so I can open the windows’ are gone. The amount of disruption that occurs on a typical painting project can be directly correlated to the level of service the contractor is providing. WOW 1 DAY! Painting dramatically reduce the disruption to the homeowner by getting in and out the home in just one day.” “From our perspective it’s the simple things like providing a detailed, written quote, having references, insurance and workers compensation documentation, a written warranty and a firm commitment as to when the project will start and finish,” said Bodden. “A good painting company should be able to provide all of these to their customers.” WOW 1 DAY! Painting is a full service painting company that promises to paint homes or businesses in a single day. The company not only offers one day completion, it guarantees high quality work by professional, uniformed painters who leave no mess behind. Headquartered in Vancouver, B.C., WOW 1 DAY! Painting has franchises across North America. For more information, call 888-969-1329 or go to https://www.wow1day.com/
